going bush

We settled the bush property in early August.

I took the boys out of school for a few days to go and do the pre-settlement inspection, and stay on the property once we got the keys.

It was a big adventure. Two of the boys hadn’t seen the property. When we arrived there was an eagle’s feather on the ground at the gate to the house yard.

My husband hadn’t seen the property in person either. He had only seen photographs. He arrived on the Saturday. After inspecting all of the blackberry, he asked “what are the Aboriginal words for ‘bloody lot of work’?”
